Billboard Highlights Need for Nurses
VNA Care Network will run this billboard along Interstate 290 in Worcester for the months of July and August in an effort to bring more nurses into the field of home health care.
The billboard is raising awareness about the effects of the national nursing shortage in local communities. The Worcester Telegram and Gazette featured VNA Care Network's billboard on the front page of the July 2 edition and published a related editorial on July 12. Other local and industry media outlets have also spotlighted the billboard.
This isn't the first time VNA Care Network has faced a nursing shortage. The agency's annual report for 1961 lamented the lack of nurses in the Worcester area. Although 4,800 cases were visited by 28 nurses, executive director Ruth Fisher said, "We are really swamped with work. And there's so much more we could do." In 1964, the agency ran a billboard in Worcester to raise awareness of the Visiting Nurses.
VNA Care Network has numerous opportunities for full-time, part-time, and per diem nurses in Eastern and Central Massachusetts. Signing bonuses, tuition assistance, and access to our condo near Disney World are just a few of the benefits of working for VNA Care Network.
