Komen Foundation Supports Breast Cancer Treatment Support
The Boston Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation recently renewed its support of VNA Care Network's Breast Cancer Treatment Program with a $22,000 grant.
Established last year through a grant from the Komen Foundation, the program offers income-eligible women supportive services not covered by insurance or other funding to help them complete breast cancer treatment.
Services include medical social worker home visits to assess patients' needs and link them to community resources, nontraditional therapies such as acupuncture, transportation to medical appointments, language translation services, medications, nutrition counseling, nutritional supplements, home care aide and homemaking services, and respite care for dependents.
