Caring for Culturally Diverse Patients CEU Program Slated for Nov. 15

VNA Care Network & Hospice will offer Caring for Culturally Diverse Patients, a free continuing education program for nurses, as well as information about career opportunities in Central Massachusetts and MetroWest during a program from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the agency's headquarters, 120 Thomas St., Worcester (directions).

world.gifCaring for Culturally Diverse Patients will explore specific cultural values and how those values may impact health care. Objectives of the program are to define culture and cultural competency and to describe at least one cultural value regarding health or health care held by the cultural groups discussed.

Panelists

Cathy Romeo, manager of VNA Care Network & Hospice's Cultural Competency Program, will facilitate. The panel will feature two speakers from VNA Care Network & Hospice's Cultural Competency Program representing diverse cultural populations from the Central Massachusetts area. Panelists will share their own experiences of cultural traditions, values, and beliefs.

Contact Hours and More

Participants can earn one nursing contact hour from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. There will be door prizes and refreshments.

Career Opportunities Information

Several managers and human resources representatives will be available after the program to answer questions about VNA Care Network & Hospice and career opportunities in the Central Massachusetts and MetroWest areas. Human resources staff will also be available to interview interested job candidates at that time.
