VNA Care Network & Hospice was recently named to the 2010 HomeCare Elite, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States.
This annual review identifies the top 25 percent of agencies. Winners are ranked by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance.
For over 100 years, VNA Care Network & Hospice has brought health care into patients’ homes. The agency’s nurses; physical, occupational and speech therapists; social workers; and nutritionists enable patients to cope with a wide range of illnesses and injuries while continuing to live independently.
Karen H. Green, president and CEO of VNA Care Network & Hospice, credits the dedicated staff backed by clinical specialists in cardiopulmonary disease, diabetes, wounds, palliative care and more. "Our expert care makes an enormous difference in the lives of thousands of people each year," said Green. "There was a veteran who was unable to walk after a total knee replacement. One of our physical therapists literally got him back on his feet. We helped a mom in need of a heart transplant return home to her young daughter after five months in the hospital. Each patient has unique needs, and our skilled staff and extensive array of services and specialists allow us to give this elite level of care," added Green.
In addition to home health care, VNA Care Network & Hospice provides hospice for the terminally ill in patients' homes, assisted living, and other facilities; hospice residences in Cambridge, Needham, and Worcester; and numerous wellness programs, including free Keep Well clinics for seniors, breast cancer treatment support, and Philips Lifeline medical alert and medication management systems.
