Mark your calendars for the 15th Anniversary Holiday Pops on Saturday, Dec. 8
To celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Holiday Pops, in addition to the gala concert on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Abbot Hall, Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor and VNA Care Network & Hospice will also host a retrospective art exhibit and an artist reception at Abbot Library in Marblehead.
During the first two weeks of November, a retrospective exhibit of The Holiday Pops logo art from the last 14 years will be on display in The Virginia A. Carten Gallery at Abbot Library, 235 Pleasant Street in Marblehead. The exhibit will feature the work of local artists including Elaine Caliri Daley, Carole Eldridge, Nancy Ferguson, Joan Colt Hooper, Bunny Hannaway, Bette Hunt, Nordia Kay, Stephanie McGrail Letendre, Cynthia McCann, Bud Orne, Marty Riskin, Pam Schalk, Racket Shreve, and Ellie Tomlinson.
On Thursday, Nov. 8, Holiday Pops tickets will go on sale to the public. Floor tickets are $50 each and will be available exclusively through the mail-in order forms to be published in The Marblehead Reporter on Nov. 8 or downloaded beginning Nov. 8 from this website. Balcony tickets are $35 each and will be available through the order form and at select locations.
On Thursday, Nov. 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Rotary and the VNA will host an artist’s reception for this year’s logo artist, Racket Shreve, at Abbot Public Library. During the reception, Shreve will unveil his 2012 Holiday Pops original artwork, "Marblehead Whimsy.” A collection of Shreve’s works will be on display in the Virginia Carten Gallery throughout the rest of November.
Raffle tickets to win Shreve’s original watercolor of the 2012 logo art will be available at the reception. Also available for purchase will be fine art prints of this year’s logo art for $50 each and notecards featuring the logo art in packages of 10 cards for $10. All logo art items can be ordered by contacting Jodi Vigernon or by downloading the order form that will be available from this website on Nov. 8.
The 15th Annual Holiday Pops Concert will be on Saturday evening, Dec. 8, at Abbot Hall in Marblehead, Massachusetts. The Holiday Pops dessert reception will begin at 7 p.m. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Maestro Dirk Hillyer and The Hillyer Festival Orchestra are preparing an evening of magnificent music complete with holiday sing-alongs and musical surprises. Soloist Colin Levin who dazzled last year’s audience will be returning again this year by special invitation.

Over the past 14 years, proceeds from the Holiday Pops have exceeded $350,000, all of which has directly benefited the community through the non-profit programs and activities of The Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor and VNA Care Network & Hospice.
