VNA Care Network recently saluted the Friends groups on the North Shore, Cape Ann, and Marblehead/Swampscott for their volunteer work in support of the agency's nonprofit home health care, hospice, and wellness programs.

The annual celebration included the presentation of the Barbara G. Flagg Award to Shirley Conway of Rockport and a special recognition award to Anne Willis of Manchester by the Sea.

The Barbara G. Flagg Award was established by VNA Care Network in 1987 in memory of a dedicated volunteer who worked tirelessly to support the agency's mission of compassionate, nonprofit health care. Conway was cited for her role on VNA Care Network's board of directors, strategic planning committee, and board governance committee as well as her involvement in fundraising activities, most recently chairing the 90th anniversary celebration for VNA Care Network's Gloucester office.

Willis was honored for more than two decades of volunteer service through the Manchester Friends of VNA Care Network. Over the years, Willis has graciously welcomed her fellow volunteers into her home to prepare for a variety of fundraisers including the annual lobster roll sale and the gift basket raffle at the Manchester Bazaar.
