Vice President Recognized for Leadership on Employment Issues
Rosalie Lawless, vice president of human resources for VNA Care Network & Hospice, was recently recognized for her leadership in employment, education and training initiatives by the Central Massachusetts Regional Employment Board (REB).
REB Executive Director Stephen Willand presented Lawless with the Frances S. Perkins Award, named for the secretary of labor in the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration and the first woman cabinet secretary in the United States. The REB cited Lawless for her "leadership in building comprehensive and integrated workforce development strategies and exemplary contributions to healthcare in the Commonwealth."
As vice president of human resources for VNA Care Network & Hospice, Lawless is responsible for leading the operations of the Human Resources Department, MIS Department and Child Care Centers. She brings over 25 years of experience in health care and educational organizations to her role at the agency. She also serves as vice chair of the REB.
The Central Massachusetts Regional Employment Board (REB) has jurisdiction over all public funds for employment, education and training to serve corporate and private citizens throughout Worcester and 37 surrounding communities. The REB membership includes representatives of companies in critical and emerging industry clusters, as well as higher education, comprehensive and vocational schools, organized labor, community- and faith-based organizations, and economic development agencies.
"The Central Massachusetts REB works to assure that there are enough qualified people, with the right skill set, to match what businesses need to flourish. Workforce development is the mission and vision of the REB," stated Lawless.
